Davey , Davey Johnson ..................... Girls
....”I hear the sound of distant bums......”.
I think that’s the right words.
They beat them 5-1 in holland...5 lucky offside goals said shanklyThe two I remember most being sung around the house by my dad were:
Ey, Aye Sandy scored the goal, Sandy scored the goal, Sandy scored the goal
Ey, Aye, Sandy scored the goal
That won the cup for Evertoooooon!
Obviously that refers to the 1906 Cup win but I have no idea how widespread it was or when it started, just that my dad used to sing it around the house when I was a kid, early to mid 60s.
The other one he sang a lot was:
Play up Everton, you're noted everywhere
Knock old Liverpool flying through the air.
If they ask for mercy, we've got none to spare
So play up Everton you're noted everywhere.
Also...
"When it's Spring again we'll bring again Ajax from Amsterdam"
Laughing at Ajax beating the RS in a European tournament. Can't remember the full details.
The Millwall fans did......You're going home in a St John's Ambulance lol
Yep I remember that - the best noise I felt was the away Kop at Wolves - I was there one time and two teenage blues had somehow got an old steel barrel in there with two big wooden sticks starting the chants of we had thousands there most times in that end - great days for singing as we won there quite a lot ......How about the old Hare Krishna ?
