That was a League Cup match when we won 3-0. They didn't stop singing it the whole of the second half. Great away day though.
Wasn’t ther, but was told it was a bit nasty after the game. Remember the next time Utd game to Goodison after that, was a night game, repercussion!!

from what I remember. We Came out the ground and had to take the walk down to my coach which was parked down by Warwick road station. We charged them as soon as we came out the scoreboard. They scattered but then a load more got behind you. So you had them in front of you behind you and then coming out if the side streets. Lots of charging them bit of running, a few fights but we stayed together till we got to the coach park. Probably a lot more utd coaches than us and a few kick.offs in the coach park. But the coppers were at the coach park so died down then. Don't know about the lads on the train. Probably a long walk back but I think they got the main escort off the police

I just remember his nicknames "Apricot" and "Herbie" lol lol lol
After the deluded ones had announced the signing of Ray Kennedy from Arsenal in the same week that Shankly resigned.

Well I heard Bertie Mee say to Bill Shankly
"Do you want this reject Kennedy"
Shankly said "I'm going any how,
so I might as well waste two hundred thou"
Yep I remember that - the best noise I felt was the away Kop at Wolves - I was there one time and two teenage blues had somehow got an old steel barrel in there with two big wooden sticks starting the chants of we had thousands there most times in that end - great days for singing as we won there quite a lot ......
Reminded me of the time a mate and myself managed to get two bin lids at Molyneux and the racket to get the fans chanting..
bang bang
bang bang bang..... bang bang bang bang...
Everton...
until the bizzies came and took them off us.....
And all the crowd around singing to them ..
Whats the next tune...........

Not too sure of the background , but it was a song sung by the Street End 78/79 , when I asked was told at Ugly,s club that there was some rumours flying around ?
I must be the only one who remembers this.
It was in the Echo or Daily Post. Early 70s, plain as day, The sundays didnt get hold of it, or if they did it was all a bit tame by News of the World standards...which is probably why it didnt get coverage
Anyway, all over 16, probably 18year old 6th formers, nothing too untoward by todays standards, but it was billed as School Girl Scandal and as such upset the straight laced hierarchy at Goodison.
Johnson, Whittle and fullback whose name escapes me were moved on smartish to Ipswich and Palace and ???

They beat them 5-1 in holland...5 lucky offside goals said shankly
Then saw them off 2-2 on one of those wunderfull nites
I got given a ticket by a rs who at 1-5 down didnt fancy it.
The rs huffed and puffed to scraped a draw
Didn't they have a kid called Johan Cruff playing for them ?
I wonder what ever happened to him?
