- Olivier Dacourt – French midfielder who impressed in his single season before moving to Lens.
Signed in 1998 from Strasbourg, Dacourt was a combative midfielder who made an instant impact with his energy and tough tackling. Despite only spending one season at Goodison, he left a lasting impression before moving to Lens and later starring for Roma and Inter Milan.
