Transfer Rumour Olivier Giroud

A club with apparent ambition of top 4, as we are told, does not sell a Romelu Lukaku for £75m and replace him with a 31 year old bench warmer from a club we are trying to displace.

Romelu Lukaku : 68 league goals in 141 appearances for Everton
Olivier Giroud : 69 league goals in 164 appearances for Arsenal

To dismiss him as a bench warmer is ludicrous. He has proved that he is one of the few strikers in British football capable of competing with Lukaku. He's got height and reach, he's got a bundle of different types of goals in his locker. And by the way he's 30, not 31. He'd have no sell-on value, but we're in the happy position where that isn't important. Our priority is to find someone who can consistently hit the net over the next 2 or 3 years, and Giroud totally fits the bill.

Like Williams. Serve their purposes accordingly.

Now look at how many of Giroud's appearances were off the bench because Wenger for some reason loves playing with midfielders up front.

We cannot afford to get involved in a long drawn out back and forth saga with the new season around the corner.

The same 'bench warmer' who is first choice for his national team. Despite the likes of martial, greizeman, mbappe, benzema and lacazette for competition.
