Ticket prices at Goodison have become ridiculous in recent years, up until 2013 our prices were quite fair. However I really don't think Everton are any different from the other clubs, when it comes to exploiting fans. Charging £25 for a pre season friendly against Porto. Plus we charge away fans the same price as Arsenal for an obstructed view, a wooden seat and in a decaying ground. We allow fans to tout their season tickets for extortionate amounts, something that you can arrested for on the street. I personally disagree with the policy of cheap season tickets for under 11s, personally I would simply try and make it more affordable for all fans regardless of age. Most of the under 11s pay no attention to the game, plus how they can afford to go when their older when tickets are so expensive. Kids nowadays have been brought up being able to watch 4 games on TV every weekend, they can watch every single game on the computer or go with their dad to the pub and watch it. Personally I think fan culture will die in about 10 years, as the way ticket prices are going nowadays it will be impossible to younger fans to afford to go the game.

True. Living a 4 hour drive away from Goodison I only get to 4 home games max per season now and maybe 2 or 3 aways if they go to general. I am a student again now, so don't have as much money as two years ago. But still, three years ago I was getting to 8-10 home games. £46 for United at home this weekend. That's 20% of my monthly income at the moment. Added to that petrol costs and food and drink and it is something I think I'll struggle to do again this season.

The problem is though, we're getting great attendances so the prices aren't going to go down anytime soon. Other clubs are doing the same too. It's nasty, and as much as we can cry about wanting the clubs to share out the extra TV money, it's not going to happen when the 'football product' is flying so high. That's the price of capitalism for you. Forget any governing body/ the government stepping in.
