True. Living a 4 hour drive away from Goodison I only get to 4 home games max per season now and maybe 2 or 3 aways if they go to general. I am a student again now, so don't have as much money as two years ago. But still, three years ago I was getting to 8-10 home games. £46 for United at home this weekend. That's 20% of my monthly income at the moment. Added to that petrol costs and food and drink and it is something I think I'll struggle to do again this season.

The problem is though, we're getting great attendances so the prices aren't going to go down anytime soon. Other clubs are doing the same too. It's nasty, and as much as we can cry about wanting the clubs to share out the extra TV money, it's not going to happen when the 'football product' is flying so high. That's the price of capitalism for you. Forget any governing body/ the government stepping in.

The reason why we have had good attendances in recent weeks is only really because we've been facing quality opposition. I'm in the similar boat to you I can't afford to get to that many games, I've only been to two this season. I remember about 5 years ago when it was about £30-£35 to sit in the street end, now it's from £35 to £41 I just can afford it anymore. I personally believe the cheap tickets for under 11s has also contributed a lot to the rise in attendances. While I'll always love Everton I find it sad that a lot of fans including me are being priced out of football.
