One year since we appointed dyche

Something between 7-8. Did a good job in these circumstances and the turbulences around the club. We look way more competitive than 1 year ago. It looks like a team in most cases. Not beautiful for the eye most times. The home record could be better, but in the end, I care more about getting enough points than on what ground we get them. Contra are some team selections like keeping Keane playing, sometimes in-game management with subs, adapting the tactics during the game etc.

6.5....Did what was asked of him last year by keeping us up. Had us on a decent run of form after the deduction but has struggled to get it going again. His insistence to play Keane and even shoe horn him in by switching to a back five has cost him a 7 or higher in my book.

7. What we need for now and seems on the outside to be absorbing the never ending barrage of crap pretty well. Still oddly doesn’t feel part of the club even though he’s clearly given everything and tried everything. In the middle of team, board and fans and saying the right things to appease everyone.

Would have said not what we need for the future, but the future looks grim, so suspect he will remain suited to the job.

Could be messy if we go down. Assume he would have a contractual pay reduction, but if the relegation is clearly caused by points deducted rather than points won on the pitch, it will be interesting to see if it causes friction. Might just walk away if the loss in pay he might feel is unjust becomes greater than any compo he’d get for being sacked. So he wouldn’t lose anything by calling it a day with no payoff if the hassle wears him down.

Given the position of the club when he came in, and the off-field problems, and squad limitations I think he has done well.

Solid and effective football. Making chances but without a lethal slotter to make that count. He's the right man for the job and hopefully he will be here and put us in a position where we can see if he can push us on to win stuff and that's when I can be more critical.

At the moment he's a 9/10 for being the right man doing the right kind of job for our position. If he'd had us set up better for the first few games of the season then he could score even higher. We might be dire, but even Guardiola with a tanker of klopperzade couldn't get much more of a tune from this bunch.

He just hasn't done this with Keane its such a strange thing that people have made up. He dropped him after 2 games he's only started him twice since and one of them was when Branthwaite was suspended its such a boring fake thing to moan about.

8

Would like to see him more proactive especially when the opposition are getting on top. But theres no doubting he's done a great job in the hardest of circumstances.

Has to be an 8 for me (just). The table is most definitely lying at the moment given the points deduction so in reality Dyche can only be judged by the results he's got, and that would have us in 12th place on 27 points, and only 9 points from our full tally last season. We also should have got to the Semi Final of the League Cup, but for the misplaced arrogance of Onana.

Last season he saved us from relegation after where Lampard had us so that comes in to the judgement too.

If we stay up, and he is given a couple more seasons, that is where he will need to show his ability to progress us further because the current judgement of him is only appropriate in this current period.

Branthwaite & Tarkowski have played 90 percent of the games this season, Keane played the first 2 then was dropped and has rarely been seen since.

Let me rephrase, plays crap players anytime when he should find another option. Let a youth player play. Tired of seeing the same dross get chance after chance. Play a u21 or u 18 player, its about the same as playing some of these large wage earners who are garbage at their job.

Kept us up and looks to have done enough under normal circumstances that the ship would be righted if not for the point deduction.

Some days I want to throttle him for how we play but I'm comfortable letting him see it out right now and think he will keep us safe.
