Water, lakes, rivers etc, i've always been scared to go anywhere near them.

Oh, and vermin..shudders

A few weeks ago a rat turned up in our garden and started raiding the bird tables, bloody big thing with a white mark on it tail. I said to the boss that it could well have come off the local farming land and might just be passing through. It kept coming, athletic [Poor language removed] as well. Next thing another one turned up, no white mark on its tail and a much deeper brown. I called the rat catcher in much to my wifes displeasure as she was worried about any babies that may starve, ffs I ask you.

Rat catcher said that he would lay poison underneath the ivy by the back garden gate. He suggested that it would take two or three days to go and we should call him if we see any more after three weeks, the bloody lot went in 20 minutes, which must have necessitated three trips to and fro from the lair. Not seen another one since but on the recommendation of the rat catcher, if you see one there is always more about. The old adage that you are never more than six feet from a rat is crap unless you live in a city or go to Analfield

I'd move house if i ever had one in here, just reading your post made me feel spewy .

You could be moving closer to one Vim, be afraid, be very afraid cus you never know when one will appear mate, its gnawing teeth ready to render your innards to pulp, its beady eyes watching your every move from its hidden place, all the time its plotting to GET VIM

James Herbert's ' The Rats' is a freaky book to read, even for a shithouse like me, it's compulsive reading.

Oh, and i'm not scared of them coming to get me because i've got a skinhead, so there !

My only real phobia is beng near the edge of big drops that I could fall off. I'm not scared of heights, don't mind being high up, but I can't stand being within 15 foot or so of a big drop.

I have this thing where, if i get too close to the edge, I can't stop thinking about "what if I stumble and fall and can't stop myself going over the edge ?"

I'm not even sure it can be classed a a phobia, I just think of it as self preservation :D

Dude i feel exactly the same. Everything you write hits home with me mate. Can't stand no-were near the edge of a big drop. An the thought of it nearly gives me a panic-attack.

Plus Geordies...................smelly tramps.

Now i do feel ill!!!!!

The sea.

Biggest wimp ever when it comes to the sea, will you [Poor language removed] see me diving in off a boat or even putting my foot in for that matter.

Do you get that falling sensation out of nowhere, ground coming towards you at a rate of knots and you're screaming [Poor language removed], what does it feel like:lol:

no I can't stand heights at all:lol:

At the risk of sounding like a wet, soppy bugger.....i really do suffer from arachnophobia. Cant stand Spiders!

Spiders are harmless unless they are the long legged hairy arsed poisonous bastards with yellow warning spots. They creep across your body at night tempted to sink their fangs deep into your flesh inflicting a long and painful death. Other than that they are fine by me

Ooh sounds like Vertigo. My heights fear comes from when I used to go hill walking with my Dad when I was 11 or 12, proper mountain walking (up Snowdon/Hellvellyn/Moel Eilio/Scafell etc etc).

I remember once walking along a narrow ridge and, for just a split second, feeling really dizzy for no particular reason. Then, when I came to my senses I saw the 1000ft drop I had been heading for initially before I corrected my dizziness. I've not trusted my sense of balance near high edges since.
