In his mold yeh. We need an actual footballing midfielder to go along with the stopper. Gana has improved immensely in that area since his first stint here to be fair to him. But we all know his strengths. Hopefully Tim or Garner can be that guy for us as both should be considered for that or the more advanced spot in a 3.

….he’s decent in possession which Dyche clearly wanted but he lacks the pace that should be a fundamental requirement for acquisition of players at this level.

We get standard players on loan or at standard prices when we should be unearthing quality with proper sell-on margins, it’s why a DoF is paid so much money.

If he continues his form, he’s definitely one we should consider in the summer.

He can pass a ball.

He's not got the pace to track runners as a DM.

He's not got the power to push through or dominate midfields.

Aside from a nice level of cool and calm passing no matter the game intensity, I'm not sure what, if any value he adds.

Kick the ball past him and he wont catch you. If were looking for a signing to take us up a level then I'd hope its a far superior player than him.

The midfield is interesting as its down to Iroegbunam (2 years) and Garner (1 year) who will have time on their deals this summer.

If both are extended and depending on whether Armstrong comes into the middle as e.g 4th choice...we'd be looking at one signing to come in.

As our top midfielder we need a star.
