2024/25 Orel Mangala

Absolute bummer for the lad that.

We needed 2-3 players in and in the space of a couple of days we've had confirmation that Mcneil is a way off, DCL hamstring has gone twang and Mangala probably out for the season..

Absolutely imperative we get some reinforcements in this week otherwise we risk Garner breaking down too early or rushing Tim straight back in.

Is he out for the season?

Moyes said it wasn't looking good and someone said he flexed his knee which knowing our luck means it'll be ligament damage and that will be him done for the season.
Would expect atleast two in this window then say a cm from chelsea and a striker now, then anothher winger with a lb maybe but cant see. This window

You sure he's not worth £30m? In today's market?

Established international and a premier league starter for 2 mid table teams
Agreed, 30m seems too much, but hes a PL player now, as you say International, so 30m is sadly the going rate.

You got boys like that Dewsbury Hall, who I really havent seen a lot of, but it seems 30m is the going rate.

Of course you can get bargains, the boy Mangala joined Forest for 11m initially, thats the price you wanna pay, but PL tax is PL tax and yes, I know hes a Lyon player.

A week squad in terms of numbers just saw three arguable first team starters knocked out in the space of three days - possible that all three are fine for the season as well.

TFG need to spend now whatever we have available right up to the PSR limits

Defo

People say "no way player X is worth £Xm" as if it's still 2006

The market is the market whether you like it or not.

As you say, there are players out there for £10-£20m but they're either unproven in the prem (and therefore at risk of failing) or proven to be mediocre

For every signing that does work out in that bracket there are plenty that don't

100%. It's imperative we have 2 new players in through the door before Leicester. That game is key because that's the one which takes us completely out of the equation and drags a couple of teams closer to us as well.

No excuses, we need a minimum of 2 in and give Moyes and the squad another boost.

It depends what you mean by ‘worth’ it I suppose. It’s not necessarily an outlandish fee for a player with his CV but it would be a terrible piece of business for us to spend that sort of money on someone like him, you simply have to find better value than that in the market.

Just mental how we seem to get one player back fit and then lose 2 at the same time. Last 2 weeks alone we've lost Chermiti (again) Broja (again), DCL, Mangala and confirmation that Mcneil might need an op.
Is everton this crap seems to hit us never simple, dont think changes much this window apart from beto and the forward postion. Cm will be the same apart frok garner maybe starting in magala. And the need to stip broja's loan. I am interested to see what we do with the striker position this window
