As you say, there are players out there for £10-£20m but they're either unproven in the prem (and therefore at risk of failing) or proven to be mediocre

For every signing that does work out in that bracket there are plenty that don't

Agreed, but also there were a few on here who had no issue with what we paid for Gbamin, which I’m sure was 20+? Add on inflation and you must be at 30 by now, and I think we’d be getting a similar player in theory to what we thought we were getting then.

Given what happened today, he might be similar in a few other ways and all.

Knee injury, serious enough to have to come off with 7 minutes of game time +8 stoppages. (went to nearly +10 as it happened) So not a crying off for an early bath.

I think the amount of injuries that have started occurring since the dinosaur was booted point to the players not being anywhere near fit enough. It’s not a coincidence that they’re all dropping like flies with muscle injuries as soon as Moyes arrives.

100%. It's imperative we have 2 new players in through the door before Leicester. That game is key because that's the one which takes us completely out of the equation and drags a couple of teams closer to us as well.

No excuses, we need a minimum of 2 in and give Moyes and the squad another boost.

I'll add that if we add a few younger players now as well mate (guys I've mentioned) it gives them almost half a season to bed into the side get settled in the city etc, a win v Leicester really would allow us some luxury in that regard.

Anyone we get in now is one less we need to bed in next season as well which should help the process go smoother

Well he's not going to get any faster after that injury. Really sad for him, he'd been starting to play rather well. Think long term he's not got enough pace for the premier league, but we probably won't find out for us in blue now.

Hope Mangala is OK. Didn’t like the way his knee flexed inwards under the tackle. Could be ligament damage

if its the medial collateral ligament, it'll be 6-8 weeks, and ACL is 9 months, either way, not good for the lad or us. just as he was hitting form

The fella has gone, DCL getting a hamstring is because DCL has hamstring problems. It’s probably testament to how Dyche managed him that he had such a run. Mangala getting a knee injury is because that happens.

…looked plenty fit enough to me today. Defending like that for so long takes a tremendous effort. Chasing like that for 90mins, then through extended injury time with 10 men is such hard work.
