Oscar Pistorius trial discussion

Mate, don't let the cover story cloud your vision. Disregard the supposed intruder. There were 2 people in the house. One of them was locked in the toilet and the other one was shooting into the toilet from the outside. It's about a clear a case of murder as you could imagine. I cannot believe the judge has bought the intruder bullshit

It is impossible to reconcile the facts with the conclusion/verdict.

Does this case set a precedent in South Africa for future cases where spouse shoots spouse and comes up with the excuse that they thought it was an intruder

We'll have to see what sentence is imposed for the culpable homicide guilty verdict to know if he's completely gotten away with it or not

Minimum 6 years, out in 3. It it where he goes thats the concern.

So scared out of his mind (allegedly) out of bed, gun from under pillow (with illegal ammo) towards bathroom, through first door, and then the full arsenal though secondary door.

And the prosecution couldn't convict on that? What were they doing, standing on their head in a bucket of water arguing their case.
Now you are on to it. I don't think many people were aware of the secondary door within the bathroom. That is where the terrified Reeva Steenkamp sought refuge (with her phone). But she didn't count on the sociopathic tendencies of Pistorius.
Hell, the bullet that hit her in her arm was alone a mortal wound. Those flesh rending bullets he used left her arm only connected by skin. The other 'wounds' are equally graphic. The man should hang but seeing as I do not agree with capital punishment, I guess I would settle for life imprisonment.
Not to be....

I'm not really surprised. It's not like UK or European kangaroo courts fare any better. You can mow down 3 people with your car and get only 8 years here, true story.

20 years for Pistorius is far too much by European standards, after all, Breijvik only got 21 years and he gunned down over 70 people and popped off a few more celebratory rounds too.

But bladerunner played the race card, he wont be able to run in any for a while and its his livelihood.

(I apologise, thats not funny, nor respectful to the family of the deceased.)

Edit: played, not player.

Yes mate, I am not surprised either; outraged, but not surprised. It's kind of a sad commentary on things though. If Pistorius had been your ordinary joe blow, he'd have got a murder conviction. As it stands, he has got away with murder

I agree, I don't think there's any doubt about that.

The jury that didnt exist wanted to ask me why
I said running and pressure no longer got me by.
I feel the trial is coming,
It's coming to an end
And I might not see the sunshine till I don't know when.
I shot her in the bathroom, through the door of our en suite
And her blood it started pooling round my metal feet.
When I was just a baby, my mama said, Son
Always be a good boy don't play around with guns,
But I shot a girl named Reeva....

Brejvik got the maximum sentence that exists in Norway, but with a clause that he can be detained indefinitely if he's deemed to be a danger to society. He'll never get out.

If Pistorius is allowed to walk then there'll be another court case imo as the state will appeal. She's simply got to jail him, the question is how short a time he can buy for himself.......

I said he would get away with it when it all started.

It looks like he more or less will ( any judicial slap over wrist with wet bus ticket not withstanding )
and listening to his probation officer, he is likely to get a medal and a small pension as well
