They have, seemingly on the quiet, done some absolutely horrendous business.
I don't think it's quiet; they spent £71m on Kepa.

Chelsea's last few years have been abysmal in the market.Werner rejoining RBL for half of what they sold him for. This is after Chelsea loaned out Lukaku to Inter a year after buying him for an eye watering price. Meanwhile they pay the wages of countless players they don’t even want and won’t feature in their squads.
But remember when Everton spent some money 5 years ago though?!!! @ForeverBlue92

Just not happening for Vlasic
Tell you what, if you look at spending by each CLub that would consider themselves our rivals, since 2015/2016 season....you would be shocked...
I have used West Ham, Aston Villa, Newcastle and Everton as a direct comparison in NET spend.
Any guesses on what Order the 4 are in test of NET spend ???
We have to be top dont we because if you read this place we are the only club in the history of football who has ever spent money and wasted some of it.
1 | West Ham | £ 368,200,000.00 |
2 | Newcastle | £ 335,800,000.00 |
3 | Aston Villa | £ 273,000,000.00 |
4 | Everton | £ 230,000,000.00 |
Mad the perception about our spending, im not sure if its a massive media agenda, jealous other clubs, our own fans or other clueless social media fans.
Now, value for money is another issue....but have Newcastle, Villa and West ham Really had that much of abetter time than us in the last 8 years ?? Ok West ham did well last season.
These figures include Villa being out of the prem for 2 years.
1 West Ham £ 368,200,000.00 2 Newcastle £ 335,800,000.00 3 Aston Villa £ 273,000,000.00 4 Everton £ 230,000,000.00
Is he what United need? I don't think so.
FFP was always about protecting those with their snouts already firmly in the trough.Doesn’t matter when you’re one of the big six with those sweet European revenues.
Pay a world record for a goalkeeper and get it wrong? Just splash 40 mill on another
70 mill on Morata? Just loan him out
Drinkwater Bakayoko Zappacosta not working out? Just pay them until their contracts are up
150 mill on Werner and Lukaku, just let them go after a season, no problem
Batshuayi Barkley Gilmour Kenedy Hudson Odoi Sarr not needed? Just pay them anyway
Meanwhile Everton and Liecester can sell their best players and try and loan and feee transfer their way out of an FFP straight jacket because they didn’t make the CL in a three year period.
FFP means feck all, remember few years ago when UEFA banned City from Champions League for their FFP breach, City owners then appealed at some Court and decision was canceled.FFP was always about protecting those with their snouts already firmly in the trough.
It was cancelled because the only evidence was a newspaper article using stolen e-mails which had been spliced together. They didn't even have the original e-mails. Any court in the land would have laughed at them and acquitted us in short order.FFP means feck all, remember few years ago when UEFA banned City from Champions League for their FFP breach, City owners then appealed at some Court and decision was canceled.
