49ers

Player Valuation: £20m
Apologies to the mods if one exists already but haven't seen it.

Arsenal quick buy after crap defeat strikes again. We rarely get a player in January and they're hit and miss.
Adebayor,Reyes,Arshavin to name a few but keeping everything crossed with Coquelin and Cazorla out. Could have done with our Coq being whipped out to put the Saints in their place on Saturday night.

Anyway don't play FM or FiFa so won't pretend to know this kid..Just remember seeing him play once so any world football experts or Swiss experts, your inside info will be much appreciated.

Arsenal are in talks with FC Basel about signing central midfielder Mohamed Elneny.

The 23-year-old Egypt international joined the Swiss club in 2013 and has won the league title in each of his three seasons there.

The fee would reportedly be in the region of £5m and Elneny would require a work permit.

He is eligible to play in the Champions League after Basel failed to qualify for this year's group stage.

Elneny featured in Basel's home victory over Chelsea in the 2013-14 competition.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is keen to strengthen in central midfield after Francis Coquelin and Santi Cazorla suffered serious knee injuries, while Aaron Ramsey and Mikel Arteta have also had spells on the sidelines and Jack Wilshere is still absent.

However, Elneny is seen by Wenger as a long-term part of the squad and not merely a stop-gap, were he to join the north Londoners.

So 'other teams' you mean your shower? Are you one of those fans who claps EVERY SINGLE PASS FFS

Other teams as in not an Everton transfer rumour or other teams as in everybody else but Everton. Have I missed something, isn't this where stuff like this goes?

If a pass is excellent, cuts all defenders out and leads to a goal yes I'll clap it,pointless sideways, safe passes no I won't.

It's a very normal thread to start mate.

We're just very sensitive about transfers.

i think wenger would do well not to buy any injury plagued players anymore - already has too many on the books taking up wages for nothing. Your squad looks brilliant on paper, but getting the majority of them fit is almost impossible.

only a few days until the transfer window, but i can't really see any team making a massive signing. villa desperately need to do good business and sunderland need some defenders.

Sorry mate - bit tetchy at the minute, I can't watch your lot at the Emirates, literally every single pass gets a round of applause. It winds me right up.

I hate the "by far the greatest team" chant even more. You should be glad they put down their ipads long enough to applaud a pass.

@ijjysmith Kallstrom played about 3 times in the league and a couple of times in the FA cup. The Jammy bugger actually has a cup winners medal. In his defence he did get one of the penalties in the semi against Wigan.

But @toffeejack is right, most pointless Arsene Wenger transfer ever, bar Amaury Bishcoff.

Finally, it was probably only a matter of time before someone with some cash and cachet spotted that Odion Ighalo looks decent, to the tune of 14 goals these season and seven in his last six, and it seems Atlético Madrid are that someone. The Spanish big boys are confident of bagging their man for £12m, which seems like a pretty low price but apparently it might be mates’ rates, as they have a ‘good relationship’ with Watford cousins Udinese. What a world.
