Pep Guardiola will become Manchester City head coach on 1 July after the club confirmed the Spaniard has signed a three-year deal, with Manuel Pellegrini stating he is content with the decision.

A statement issued by the club said: “Manchester City can confirm that in recent weeks it has commenced and finalised contractual negotiations with Pep Guardiola to become MCFC Head Coach for the 2016/17 EPL season onwards.

“The contract is for three years. These negotiations were a re-commencement of discussions that were curtailed in 2012.

Out of respect for Manuel Pellegrini and the players, the Club wishes to make its decision public to remove the unnecessary burden of speculation.

Manuel, who is fully supportive of the decision to make this communication, is entirely focused on achieving his targets for the season ahead and retains the respect and commitment of all involved with the leadership of the Club.”

they want to go places, and their chairman will invest for it.
Gotta tip my hat to them.

These chairmen and managers spending money to make their team better, what's that about.

Rob Green off to Palace or West Ham.

If he doesn't leave, QPR will let him rot training with the kids because he has a clause in his contract guaranteeing him an extension if he plays 30games. He's already on 25 games played.

It may help the players but it doesn't help Pellegrini. Hope it buggers up their title challenge.

Have to love the way Guardiola keeps taking jobs that challenge and push him.

Could be interesting with Yaya, no way are he and Guardiola going to work together so he'll either have his mind so focused getting a deal elsewhere that he'll not bother playing for City or he'll be keen to impress potential clubs.

Face on Charlie Nicholas just now when that oaf Ian Holloway was going on about how if it weren't for football, people in Liverpool would have nothing to live for.
Normally pundits nod when each other speak, Nicholas didn't know where to look.
