According to @TaylorTwellman, MLS owners are working on mechanism to bring Gio dos Santos and Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez to the league.

would make sense, would be a big draw commercially, especially with the Mexican market

I don't think United would let Chicha leave for the MLS this early, he could be a useful bargaining chip in transfer deals later on, if necessary. Also, considering that RVP is past his prime, and Falcao's loan has expired, we are short on strikers. We would think twice about letting another one leave without having found a suitable deputy to Rooney.

United care about the Mexican market, too.

Have to keep those Invex Banco peso dollars rolling in;)

The money's not as important as the brand image in Mexico. We need to keep the young talent dreaming of Old Trafford.

I know mate, it was a joke. Have to admit to envying your club's ability to generate Wonga. Say what you want about the Glazers but they sure know how to get the max out of your brand(horrible word but a 21st Century sport one).

Wish we'd had the same negotiators when some dumbass decided that Emirates should get the shirt and stadium naming rights so cheaply. Gazidis has rectified some of it but we are still strictly juniors when it comes to wringing the cash out of brand partners, we just wring it out of the fans....barstewards:mad:

Woodward used to be awesome at something else before he got into transfers. :P
Agreed, we capitalized thoroughly on the SAF era of success, and managed to make our superstars financial assets, too. The latest kit deal we've managed despite a period of lying low is testament to the financial base that we've built from '99-'09.

The rapid growth in US interest in "soccer" will see it ruined worldwide within a decade.

We think it has become commercial and plastic now, wait 'till they've finished with it.
