Manchester United appear to have lost the race for Liverpool-bound Thiago Alcantara, but it could have worked out very differently for them had David Moyes not snubbed the midfielder back in 2013

Turned down Thiago as he didn’t know enough about him, went for Cesc who clearly was turned off about the prospect of playing under his eye gouging football, and ended up spending millions more on elbows Fellaini.
Signing Thiago wouldn’t have changed much at Man Utd under Moyes as his loser mentality was always going to see them capitulate, but his successor would have had a much easier job. Instead they were lumbered with a yard dog in midfield, and a team playing crap, negative rudderless football. The rot had set in, and there it remains. Don’t believe reports Kroos would have ended up there in 2014 had Moyes somehow kept the job. He was always destined for much better than him.
Correcting a previous comment. David Moyes didn’t destroy Manchester United in record time. Alex Ferguson destroyed Manchester United in record time when he appointed David Moyes.
