maybe i've completely missed The Messi stuff, but why does he think he can leave Barca for free?
He is allowed to leave on a free if he puts in a transfer request before June 22nd or sometime around then. He is claiming that date marks the end of the season, and as the season was delayed due to Covid, his request should be honoured in August. Barca are obviously cla I ming 22nd June means 22nd June.

I'm sure there will be plenty lawyers making a huge amount of money arguing it, but if the contract does indeed have a specific date, then I don't think he has a leg to stand on.

Not sure - they have definately improved, but they couldnt defend last year, not sure they will improve at the back enough.... If I was having a cheeky bet, I think lampard could be an early managerial casualty

Interesting post that mate. I think Silva and Chilwell help them a lot in regards the defence.

You're right though, the biggest question mark is Lampard. He got a free pass last season, but with the money spent, the expectation of the club will be he competes to win the league. If he cant they will go and find a manager who is able to do this. Simeone could come, or Allegri etc.

Chelsea are a ruthless club. Lampard sort of fulfilled his role last season, he brought through a number of players. To the management of the club- job done. If he starts slowly, pressure will build quite quuckly.

Yes. A lot of great individual signings. Can he build them into a team?
