I think Thiago made it clear he wasn’t going back to Barcelona and that he wanted to go to PL. I am sure they’d have loved him back if he was willing to go.

I really rate Wijnaldum as a player though, always very underrated, if he ends up leaving Liverpool, maybe he will actually start getting more recognition, as they would really miss him. All the more ‘flashy’ players get more recognition, but I think Wijnaldum was up there with Jürgen Klopp’s best signings ever.

He neg repped me last night for a post I put in that thread, a thread he has no input into, the utter freak, so my only guess is he's got us mixed up due to his limited brain capacity.

that seemed to be the general consensus from the press in Germany. Bayern had tried to extend his contract, but when it became clear he wasn’t going to sign a new deal, all the talk started about him wanting to go to the PL, specifically Liverpool. And that he didnt want to go back to La Liga.

Then Bayern’s mission was to get a fee for him rather than him being able to leave on a free next year. Even the most richest clubs like Bayern are having to be careful with money due to this pandemic!

They've done brilliantly to get 30m for a lad who would be free in about 3 months.

£25m apparently, if they hit all the clauses. And just £5m up front according to reports in Germany, which is not great to be honest! But when a player wants to go to one club, it does handcuff a selling club as we all will have experience of I’m sure with our own clubs. It does suggest how tight money is though for Liverpool that they could negotiate it that way.
