Academy players played a big role in that. Mount and James for example

Has their academy ever been as good as it currently is? That would be like suggesting that because Citys success hasnt historically came from their academy that they can sell Lewis, Palmer and co. I'm not saying they won't be a good team, but they are being woefully inefficient financially.Has it been detrimental to them in the past? The champions league they won in 21 was pretty down to their academy. Christensen, James and Mount played in the final with big mins from Abraham that season. Abrahams goals were basically the only reason they even qualified from the season before as well.
Maybe Todd Boehly is seeing something the rest of the world isn't and buying 7 kids all in the same position at around the same age for £400 million is actually a good idea idk but for me, it'd be cheaper an easier to have not went that route.

And if Boehly had arrived 4 years earlier he might have sold himYeh and James is still at Chelsea? I don't understand how Chelsea will be worse off the future selling the likes of Lewis Hall.

In the past 12 months they've signed:I don't think you've looked at their actual squad structure to think this:
1 actual keeper
5 CB's they want with one out with cruciate, the rest up for sale
2 LB's
2 RB's
4 CDM's
2 CM's
4 wingers (3 if Ziyech leaves)
4 strikers (3 if Lukaku leaves)
I don't like how much they're spending but they have a FIFA realistic balanced squad now.
I get the feeling you have a soft spot for us?Maatsen seems to be in the same boat. Rejected a new deal. Could be off to Burnley.
Newcastle buying well again the scruffs. Livramento right, Hall left, young very promising. Sorted for years.
In the past 12 months they've signed:
Casadei 20 million Loaned out
Santos 20 million Getting loaned out
Chukwuemeka 20 million Attacking mid
Caicedo 115 million
Enzo 120 million
Ogochukwu 30 million
Lavia 60 million
So, 4 centre mids then, crazy, that's way too many.
How many of them are better than Mount or Gallagher? 2?
Theyve got 5 centre halves and 4 of them are contracted til at least 2029. Do we really think in that time Chelsea aren't going to produce a centre half better than a Diasi or fofana? They've arguably developed 3 in the past 5 years already better than them But Boehly isn't responsible for Guehi and Tomori. He was here for Colwill and he's staying.
Best thing Palace ever did for usBut yous still should've sold us Zaha for £50mill though
Nope.Best thing Palace ever did for us
In some ways yeah they are because if they're sold without a transfer request and agree to lower wages then the club still has to pay out the amounts negotiated over the full length of the contract or at least a sizable chunk of it.Delighted Olise has rejected Chelsea, they have the feeling of a really plastic club these days and I'm baffled by the desire to go there. Are these long contracts really that much more beneficial to top players?
How much more? Because the price was way higher.Nope.
Zaha would have done more for us than Iwobi.
