He played up top a lot. He’s not a creative player at all. He’s a winger in the Richarlison mold where he’s really a striker and as such the goal return isn’t impressive.

Everyone vault me in 3 years when Johnson is playing for Watford and has 6 goals and 3 assists over the course of the season.

This is a comparison you all felt the need to bring up. Personally I’m capable of talking about other teams without thinking about Everton all the time. In fact these days I prefer it.

He’s not that good, but as I’ve said for going on two years now he’s fine when used in a role that isn’t predicated on beating a man and crossing and he’s the only player we have that can move the ball up the field with any regularity. So I wouldn’t say he sucks no, but I’d also like for him to stop being one of the few even plausible bright spots in our terrible team in very short order.

From reports, he burnt his bridges with Inzaghi, the manager, because he didn't start him in the CL final, so it was his decision to not go with him still in charge.

It was never going to happen in a million years for a multitude of reasons (namely wages etc.), yet I'd have loved him back here. He was at his happiest here.

Didn't know he was happiest here. I thought that was at Inter in his partnership with Martinez.

A bit of supposition of course as his time at Inter was definitely rewarding for him in terms of goals and honours.

Yet apparently, he stills talks very fondly about his time here, apart from some elements of the hierarchy, and was at his happiest in and out of football.
