We bought 7 new players.

Sold Kane and Winks.

Couldn't get Lloris, Dier, Sanchez or Hojbjerg off the books.
You could have loaned PEH to Atletico Madrid but Levy would only entertain a sale.

I suspect you could have done deals for all 3 but for Levys usual crazy valuations and stubbornness

Glad we didn’t do the PEH deal - Atleti had no intention of purchasing and we would have been light in midfield. As it stands out midfield options are: Maddison, Bissouma, Bentancur, PEH, Sarr, Skipp, Lo Celso - by far the strongest part of our team.

Not sure how you could be light in midfield with that lot mate but just goes to show the difference between the haves and have nots

Think Villa did decent business in the window ;

Tielemans (free) Pau Torres (£31m) Moussa Diaby (£40m) Zaniolo and Lenglet (season loans) all came in....

Pulled about £40m pure profit from sale of academy products Archer, A Ramsey, Philogene, Davis.

Coutinho off to Qatar next week for rumoured €18m plus his wages off the books.

Excellent squad reinforcements and no problems with FFP. Emery and Monchi seem to know what they're doing.

Dier refused to leave (running down his contract) and Lloris would only go to a team where he was a guaranteed starter.

PEH refused to join Fulham. The only one that didn't go because of Levy's valuation was Sanchez.

Diaby has been one of the bargains of the summer, Pau Torres is one of the biggest busts - the guy has personally been responsible for 3 of Villa gold against this season - he is both Slow, Weak and poor positionally - pure shiete in my opinion

Bentancur is coming back from a long term injury, Maddison doesn’t really have cover and Skipp is the new Harry Winks - basically Tom crab Davies

Thank you for your input. You have to watch Michael Keane every week so I'll bow to your greater knowledge of defensive calamity zones....

We talking about the same Pau Torres who looked class in and for Spain?

On balance looks promising for Barça

Big wages have been moved to facilitate FFP space allowing club to target low cost (hence low risk) options to fill specialist needs we wouldn't otherwise remotely be able to purchase on the open market. Romeu the most expensive transfer this window - €3.4M net for Gundogan, Felix, Cancelo, Martinez and Romeu

Cancelo will provide a legitimate RB we have lacked and that will make that right side a highway of scoring chances with either Raphinha or Lamal, nevermind what it will open up for Lewy

Felix out wide left will already be an upgrade on current Ansu. He’s great as an interior who can play wide left as a scoring threat or catalyst for scoring chances in the attacking third. It'll be more interesting when Roque arrives in January but time to see if Xavi will be able to get the team playing the way he has promised fans - no more excuses since he has few excuses left. Sink or swim season for Xavi

I would've preferred Abde be given a chance but seems clear Xavi is going to continue with 4 midfielders which likely motivated him to want to get minutes elsewhere

A great transfer window
