Other clubs Transfer window 2024-2025

Evan Ferguson, Enciso and Buononatte all now at West Ham, Ipswich and Leicester respectively. A few seasons ago some on here were banging on about how Brighton kept getting everything right with their recruitment and how these lads were all stars. I’d have Ferguson in the team tomorrow but perhaps judgement should be taken over the long term before proclaiming all these teams as genius operators.

Brighton are outspending everyone and are mid table. Brentford have lost 5 of their last 6 at home and are dropping too. It’s not out the question we could finish ahead of both of them.
Brighton have spent c £250m more than they received in transfer fees since 2018. They are not a brilliantly run club, they just have an extraordinarily wealthy owner. They have as many misses as hits with recruitment. Their fans have all turned on the new genius manager and are wistfully recounting the days of Zerbi, the one they hounded out less than a year ago.

Not sure where you’ve got that data from, but from what I’ve read they’re in a positive net spend over the last 5 years. Maybe what I’ve read is wrong I don’t know

I just think their reputation has been boosted by Caicedo McCallister Cucurella Ben White. People have been acting like every new player they bring in will follow the same path. There’s no serious takers for Mitoma (aside from Saudi), Enciso Ferguson Buononatte are clearly on the way out downwards or sidewards, they should have sold Lamptey when he was being valued at 70 mill, similar for estupinan, I don’t see any stars in the current team yet who will do the same and they’ve spent a fortune.

The 3 that went out on loan are barely out of their teens like. Two of them are getting over injuries

They still have Van Hecke & Duffy as there centre backs, and paid £15m for Cashin from derby, who is 'alright' at best.

Veltman still starts every game also

Add Adingra to your list also.

If anything there are players like Adingra who have talent who have stagnated at Brighton as they have a bloated squad of 'next off the production line' but none will be as good as MacAllister or Caicedo

We saw this at Southampton, it doesn't last, I'm watching Bournemouth interestingly, i hope they don't fall into the same trap as (small stadium apart) i feel they don't want to just be a team based for profit and head pats from bigger clubs

It appears Billy Dean just likes to say things are wrong without actually looking for the facts, gaslighting us to think what he does.
I’m not sure that’s fair. Stats have a habit of being presented very differently depending on what is trying to be proved. @Billy Dean has been a very good and knowledgeable poster for a long time. He won’t be the only one to have been wrong in error on here, me included.

That article is dated 2020 and looking back to 2015.

This article is from last year looking back 5 years from then.

Maybe we’re both right @Alan Whittle
