That's the Minteh thread locked 🔒

Also @nsno-chris look not even a day after saying this look at the quote from the Elliott Anderson sale. I was right you're welcome lad.

"Although Anderson did not want to leave his boyhood club, the personal terms were attractive for the midfielder and he knows Forest are now an established Premier League club.

"Newcastle felt they were left with no choice but to sell someone like Anderson, despite Eddie Howe loving the 21-year-old - as the last resort was a points deduction in a season they want to attack."
So because he’s under contract we have the right to tell him to where to go

An interesting stand

What’s your point mate.

That a 21 year old lad who has played less than 50 top flight games left his boyhood club because he probably tripled his wages, and as such Dom should take what Newcastle offered because Everton fans get upset

Nobody mentioned DCL leaving because of the fans, I am happy for you to check our discussion yesterday. You first suggested the club doesn't have the right to tell DCL where to go, so my point is based on the Elliot Anderson deal that clubs do have a big say in what happens to a players future even if the player is unwilling.

I am a huge DCL fan and have defended him strongly when fans where obsessed with his fashion choices. But first and foremost I put Everton first and Everton have to be selfish and do what is best for us whether that's selling or keeping him.
So basically what people are saying is that Dom is OUR property, and he must do as WE say and he has NO say in his OWN future

Ok

What are you going on about; people were cryaraing yesterday because we didn’t sign Minteh and where almost blaming Dom for this not going through

And Everton have no right, and neither do Newcastle, to tell a player you are going to this club

If you want to Everton to own players and determine their life choices then that’s on you mate

With the possibility of facing a points deduction Elliot Anderson left Newcastle.

Are you saying if Everton needed to sell DCL to comply with FFP and the only way was to deal with Newcastle which involved Minteh coming the other way. Like multiple deals the past week. That DCL is right to decline a contract offer that most likely offered him a higher wage? That is still the north of the country, higher league position, plays more attacking football.

What reason would a footballer need to refuse that deal and risk the club facing a points deduction?
