Feels like media to be honest - always has, whoever the flavour of the month for the big 4 (now 6) always go, even if they don't fit.
Realistically this is the first time in ages that you've not got a squad like that and it's still an unbalanced and dumb selection - Waistcoat man was supposed to not do that when he started out but he mysteriously also started making the exact same mistakes during selections as his predecessors.
Of course this is a "conspiracy theory" of sorts, but it seems to start adding up the closer you look, especially as now you're at the Euros with a hilariously unbalanced side because he had to fit half a team of media love-in players.
Anyway, not the correct place to discuss this so sorry for offtopic.

Yeah I think Southgate has been better at resisting than most managers but I would say he has succumbed to it with the TAA situation. He did get absolutely universally murdered for leaving him out of the squad a couple of years back.
You are correct that 8 HG Players are required, if they want to register the full 25 player list.
However, to explain how Wolves meet the quota; if all 8 HG spots cannot be filled, they must leave the spot(s) vacant.
Hence why they have only registered 22 in total, leaving the 3 spots free.

I've always thought Alexander Arnold could fit into that England midfield so its not an out there suggestion......i think the problem has been is that he has thrown it into an international tournament instead of implementing it 18 months/2 years ago!
There aren't many selections in terms of that starting XI a lot of people wouldn't of gone for prior to the game!
His reluctance to be a bit more front foot and his favorability towards players associated with southern mid table clubs are things you can criticize him for!
