The theory over here is that the bids were more of a play by RM to show how much they wanted him next Summer. As in, the headline figures were ball park, but the structure of payment was in keeping with RM's current financial reality. Like a minimum payment for 10 years on a credit card.

Interesting.

I think he's nailed on for them obviously so I was a little confused why they were making these bids. I know it sucks to wait but jeez 150m or wait a year to pay nothing shouldn't be hard.

Do PSG need or want a £200m fee over 10 years to make a rival stronger? Like I said, its conjecture, but all the noise has been from RM. Not a peep from the player or PSG.

Speaking to RMC Sport, PSG Sporting Director Leonardo confirmed that the club had rejected Real Madrid’s opening bid for Kylian Mbappé and that the door is now open for the French international to exit.

How do you react to Real Madrid’s offer?

We have not had much public communication on all that, but our position has always been to keep Kylian, to extend his contract, that has always been our aim and that is still the case. We made two significant offers to Kylian: one at the level of the top players in our squad two months ago and one above that of those players very recently.
