JWP VILLA BID TURNED DOWN

Aston Villa have had a bid worth around £25m for midfielder James Ward-Prowse rejected by Southampton.

It’s understood the offer has nothing to do with Manchester City’s pursuit of Jack Grealish - Dean Smith is keen to strengthen his midfield options, as well as keeping his captain and talisman.

Sky Sports News has been told Southampton have no interest in selling Ward-Prowse, and the offer was rejected immediately. In any event, the England international signed a new five-year contract at St Mary’s 12 months ago, and Southampton value him at much more than Villa’s initial £25m bid

He's the triumph of marketing. There is absolutely no justification for him to be in the national team or a title winning team...and £100M is insane for a one trick pony who can only throw himself to the floor (maybe that's Pep's plan: get him in the team and win free kicks for KDB etc to convert...because I see no other redeeming feature to him).

Grealish is a top player and will only get better under Pep. Follow that up with Kane and that squad is just ridiculous.

Its great that City are weakening 2 of our supposed rivals for european football but then it could backfire if both teams spend the money well.
