A player who deserves his crack with a team who will be in the mix. We all laughed when Van Dijk went for 75M and now not many are laughing. Bayern just signed Atl Madrid defender Hernandez for a similar fee. Who are we to say what is madness. Money destroyed footy years ago....

why can't united be stupid enough to do that with us?

i mean i know they bought fellaini and lukaku for big fees, but they were just about right/only slightly above.

Why can't they chuck us £20m for niasse, or mccarthy or something stupid? Why can't any other premier league team offer us a stupid amount for an average player, seem to be doing it with everyone else with these maguire, mings and perez fees.

god united are spending some money on averageness. I mean they've got a bit of an eye to the future, but you can hardly see maguire, wan bissaka and james worrying the real madrid's and barca's thinking they're back.

Paying £150m on them should make other teams quake in their boots.

i'm still laughing at van dijk's price, he's a fraud, the biased media aren't going to make me change what my eyes can see. As goat said yesterday, he's not world class, he's playing in an era where there's hardly any good centre backs around now. Let's be honest, there's a genuine lack of top class strikers too, hence why most teams play with just one now.

Although I can't get my head around it...there's always one big transfer that sets the precedent for everything else decent.

Rio Ferdinand back in the day for £30mill
David Luiz for £50mill
VVD for £75mill

Every transfer gets overinflated after that
