Very happy with Digne. Glad we signed him

However, I got a lot of crap for having the temerity to plump for Tierney, not unlike how I got crapped on for saying VVD was a good player

This'll be VVD Part Two, mark my words
He'll go to Leicester when someone takes chilwell off them and he'll have a few seasons as an average midtable player before heading back north

Tbf Mikey, for every VVD you have called, you have about 10 Saido Berahinos. We're all making educated guesses more or less

Yes mate, but in both cases with me it got really nasty

There's disagreeing and then being a prick about it. A lot of people crossed that line with VVD and Tierney. It's why I feel the need to make these posts now and then just in the hope to make people not automatically disregard a player from Scotland and to actually do their research instead of just going "Scottish Football is rubbish, you're an idiot for making this shout etc"

Forster (Did well before injuries halted his progress), Wanyama and VVD all had successful careers in the Premier League after coming from the Scottish Leagues. Even Jimmy Mac did well for us until his injury issues. There is talent up there and it's not beyond reason to use it as a place to scout potential Everton players. Far too many good players have come from there now, the debate needs to be more nuanced. Look at McGinn at Villa for instance, he's been great for them this season and he came from Hibs. Just having a blanket "No" to every Scottish League player is pure idiocy at this stage

Sorry mate, I actually didn't realise it was getting to you, I just found your pro-VVD brand very funny when you were riding his hype train. You are absolutely right of course, some very good players have come and are still coming from Scotland. Won't stop the Sweeping Statement Brigade, of which I am a premium gold club member, from dismissing the Scottish League as a sectarian, talent-deficient backwater

Factually correct IMHO

United clearly seems to have lost the plot, not sure if they had one in first place tbh. SAF, the legend he is, should stay away from the club and enjoy his legacy with whatever years left in his life. United needs a major shake up throughout the club structure. I reckon only a manager like Pochettino can do that.

Hummels back to Dortmund, 38 million, not a small money for declining over 30s years old defender

I don’t know why they keep buying players back who left them for a direct rival. Both Gotze and Hummels also aren’t the players they used to be.

I don’t understand that club. I do acknowledge that they aren’t as big as Bayern yet but what irks me is that they have accepted that they will NEVER be big as them. Dortmund players know that they can leave the club for Bayern when they want and that Dortmund would agree to it. The club keeps selling their best players without much fuss. It’s like they are minting money at the expense of the clubs growth. Couple of league titles or even one in a decade is good enough. No ambitions at all. Who owns them? Why their fans aren’t doing anything about it? It’s a feeder club mentality. Absolutely mind boggling that. Great fan base but they don’t deserve one bit of it.

Was just gonna type this. He’s so overrated as well now.

He really isn't though. He is still a fantastic player. Perfect example was the game vs Liverpool in CL in Anfield. Dominant. That is what Hummels brings to this day. There is a reason Bayern fans are slightly upset at this news, which in itself is great :p

Now he has to kiss and make up a bit in dortmund and he will be ok.

I’ll leave my judgement till I catch him next season as this year him and Boateng looked like amateurs next to Sule. Even Germany dropped him didn’t they?

The members (fans) have majority ownership, like almost all German clubs.

Not all clubs pay the wages of Bayern, Man City, Juventus, Man Utd, Real etc. Dortmund almost went bankrupt 13 years ago, the club has made giant strides. Fans are ok with how well the club is run these days after those dark days.

Akanji, Diallo, Zagadou, Toprak, Hummels, Balerdi.

Who starts now? Toprak will get sold and Balerdi loaned you’d imagine.

There was a lot of critism of Germany for dumping him (and Mueller too). It wasn't a decision that went down well with the fans, although I agreed with Mueller being dropped. Boateng I agree with by the way, he is done. This is why Bayern fans are upset, as they got rid of Hummels, who isn't done, and who they all love.

Akanji and Hummels start. Diallo plays on the same side as Hummels.
