Yeah that's just it, it's he fact they think this means anything. Even United are finding out that now there's around ten teams that can out spend them the lure of playing at the 'theatre of dreams' isn't quite what it was.

Humans by nature are incredibly mercenary. With Liverpool it's worse as not only can they not offer the money they can't even offer any chance of winning something worthwhile.

I'll reserve judgment but last season was the first he scored more than 20 in his career, he's 28 and not an international regular.

If he scores more than 15 goals in the league i'll be very, very surprised.

I'm not jumping on the Soldado bandwagon. If he needs a year to settle into the division he'll be thirty by the time he's at his best, at which stage he'll be declining as a footballer. I'm more surprised that they've let Caulker go but bet they go and sign that Belgian fella now to partner Vertonghen at the back. Less than the nine million they got got got selling Caulker too, splendid business.
