Wow £13.5m (that’s before the massive increase in transfer fees)

Which absolute parrot signed off on paying him £55k a week? No wonder he’s always smiling

Am I the only one who finds it disbelieving they ‘adulation’ this bloke gets for being possibly one of the worst forwards I’ve witnessed playing for us. I’m sure it’s a bit like gallows humour because people seriously still can’t believe this bloke (as nice a fella as he is) deserves to be anywhere near our bench.
I think he’s definitely the type of player who would jump at the chance of starting every game rather than doing nothing but he’s well out of his depth. Championship or Scottish PL at his best

What a man.
Exactly this . He's never going to be thought of as an Everton legend but he's done his best with the tools given to him . He's physical and has a great attitude . His touch isn't even the worst I've seen in an Everton player . It's just that he hasn't got the quickest footballing brain and his composure is lacking. He's erratic but has the ability to finish .He doesn't get adulation though (to be fair you did put quotation marks around adulation).
I just think some people grew sick of other people slating him all the time. Questioning his professionalism (the new Ali Dia etc etc) and acting like he had never kicked a ball in his life.
For me he is nowhere near one of our worst ever forwards purely due to the fact that he won us a couple of games. Its more than say John Spencer, Brett Angell, Sandro etc did.
Also why does Niasse get ridiculed for being "a competition winner" yet the likes of Sandro and Tosun who have worse and similar records to Niasse get classed as just being "not suited" to the league etc
It's nothing to do with deserving anything, he is a good pro who works hard and can score a goal or create a chance.
He is obviously not great (or even that good generally) but he is nowhere near as bad as some make out as he has his uses and has shown that he can score goals at the top level.
