Playing a 1 - 2 with opposition defenders is a skill you can't teach

He was so unpredictable that the defenders couldn't handle him. They'd expect him to play the ball to his own team, but oh wait, he shins it in the opposite direction. The normal rules of football go out the window when someone this bad walks on the field.

Arouna Kone at least has scored goals in his career wherever he's been. Oumar Niasse had one decent scoring half-season in Russia, and apart from his hometown club in Senegal, that was his pedigree before joining Everton.

His transfer to Everton in 2016 came so far out of the blue, I can't help but think there must have been something shady going on. "We're delighted as Oumar is a player we've been following for a long time," apparently Martinez had said upon his signing. We couldn't of been following him for that long as he'd basically done nothing with his career before the start of the 2015/16 season.
BVI, Russia...alegedlly....You have to launder that dosh where ever you can these days - eh Bill,

Good lord I'd somehow erased Tommy Johnson from my memory...we have had some crap strikers play for us over the years.

Michael Branch, Nick Chadwick, Rod Belfitt, Alan Biley & Mick Ferguson all spring to mind.

To be fair to Nick Chadwick, his goals to minutes ratio for us must have been pretty good. Obviously never good enough though. And his career just petered out as he dropped down the leagues.

Michael Branch looked the real deal very briefly when he first appeared in 96/97. Something went very badly wrong and he was another who wasted what could have been a decent career.
