Oumar Niasse

My word for Niasse is respect.

Wasn't his fault he came with that price on his head.

I think the 'love in' came from how he was treated by a person not liked by the fanbase, how he just got on with things. That is where my respect comes from, he also then scored a few important goals.

I think he realised it was a privilege to play at Goodison, not a a right and worked for it. If we are going to massively criticise and abuse players for not reaching the work rate and having the right mentality then surely we should be praising players who did.

Niasse fits right into that category of respect for giving it his all and on the very odd occasion reaping the rewards.

In a team that plays with the idea to provide strikers with chances - strikers will score goals, even if they're a bit poo.

Same with Niasse, same with Maupay pre-Everton, same with a lot of players who come here nowadays and do jack as we don't even set up to attack as a team, let alone create chances for strikers.

Prime example is this:

Can you believe any of our current strikers being instructed to do this sort of run, or our #10 playing the pass consistently? Yeah, nah.
Yes, we became a Strikers graveyard, so many examples to choose from.

His 8 goals in 22 games probably had something to do with it

Wish some of our 'good players' had that sort of strike rate
We not to count the other 20 games?

He played 40 odd games and scored about 3/4 good finishes, pluck me a striker from the conference and they could do similar whilst probably playing better.

He was crap, I'm sorry this seems to hurt certain fans feelings, but he was genuinely terrible

If you don't think chances are being created for strikers then you aren't watching the games.
