60 fitness sessions, they may be 2 hrs long, he could have 2 or 3 in a day with breaks, and continue having them for a month or so while getting a few games.

I heard the commentator say it last night and thought that's a lot, I've just watched the highlights and he says 60 fitness sessions.

Not saying you're wrong mate just doesn't mean the commentator is right does it, as it seems very excessive. He did say in his interview that he is willing to do what it takes to get to sharpness as soon as possible.

I highly doubt Martinez is gonna put him through 60 sessions though.

I'd imagine it'll be routine training with the team in the mornings, and then an extra session specific to him in the afternoon.

Then when the rest have a day off he may be in for a light session etc.

He's supposedly a fit lad anyway, so it's just getting him that match sharpness. The only way you can get fit for a Premier League game is by playing in them, ultimately.

I think that the Russian league starts up again shortly, so he has had his break and has most of the work done to get back to fitness.
I am sure that these clubs must keep their players at maybe 75% fitness anyway and then bring them back up to match fitness level over a two or three week period. I don't think it could be done any other way.

Maybe the 60 sessions related to the total number since they have come back to training, three a day for three weeks would be about right.

Was a Martinez quote in the Echo earlier this week and he indeed said 60 sessions.
Well that's consistent with Robertos thinking on things like integration of players, eg Galloway needing 100 games before being FULLY effective as a CH, his view that The January window is usually used to bring in players who can be developed for the next season. I'm sure we'll see Niasse sooner rather than later, maybe this weekend but you can bet that after his first match Roberto will say that while he is in a phenomenal moment of form he still requires more training sessions to get fully fit, games to adapt to the physicality of the PL etc. Pretty standard stuff for a new player , I'm not worried about the "60 sessions" bit

Not worried myself. He also said that the matches starting with Stoke would be seen as part of those sessions.

Have a good feeling with this guy didn't stop smiling last night & the one attribute I have gleaned from all the different articles is he is a hard worker. Hopefully he is one of those infectious players that makes others around him put a bit more in

The lad could get 20mins against Stoke, it will take him a month to get fully match fit, but he'll be available to play 45-60mins after a bit of training I reckon.
