I hope he's more drogba than Kone

Still reckon Drogba and Le Tissier where the two most gifted players to play in the EPL

I have a lot of hope for Niasse I think he's going to be a fan fav in no time... Stokes his big chance

Q. Trivia really...How many African born strikers have had a 'successful' long premier league run, I.e won something / featured greater than 2 seasons.

Drogba...
Kanu
Yak
Kone
Diouf
adebayor
Ba ( two seasons )
Papisse cisse
Patrick Vieira

Always found JJ okocha entertaining, but he was more midfield, like Viera
Bony would've been better off if he stayed at Swansea, although he could technically win something this season

Alcatraz.

But basically, you're right

Honestly on a bosman I could see the logic. He was good in the air, read the game well and was a decent tackler. He was incredibly slow though and not good enough to compensate for that when played in a high line, as he often was. Okay player with some weaknesses that Martinez allowed to be exposed badly.

Not exactly Kroldrup like.

Doubt he'll be fit to start against Stoke mate

Did you actually watch the game last night? Our fans dislike a player and end up watching a different game than most of us. Absolutely ridiculous comment.

yes, he held the ball up well, but as he was playing as a striker and missed an absolute sitter followed by another really good chance mate, maybe i will judge him on that like, by all means though be happy with a centre forward who falls to pieces inside the box.

Love you reckoning your in the vast majority with your rating of him on Wednesday though, think thats the most ridiculous thing i've seen in a whilst.

To be fair, Alcatraz was probably the most reliable defender he had at Wigan the previous year (this fact and the massive injury crisis across their back four was the real reason they went down) so when Bobby needed someone cheap to sometimes sit on the bench being our 4 choice Centre Back then it was perhaps a fair enough idea.
Of the relatively small number of games he played for us he did have an occasional good game (and one really good game from what I can remember), but he was to blame in others and completely useless against Kiev which sealed his fate. He was then shipped out.
In Hindsight not the best of signings because it didn't work out, but understandable.

There, I did it, I defended Alcatraz. Shower me with your hate and disgust (as usual)
