its his fault if he doesn't have a future here and would rather collect his wages than be in a matchday squad for someone really dire like West Ham. He would still get paid his salary if he was on loan elsewhere. He cant stay and fight for his place so he should have gone if offers were made. Though I accept he may have his own reasons.

Indeed.

It is strange the things people will do for fifty grand a week.

Some weirdos would rather sit around in luxury doing nowt for it rather than move to another part of the country and maybe have to do sommat to justify it

yes I get that - but for me as a pro footballer I'd want to play and go and prove myself - I think most pros would. He still has to train and played with the u23s last week so he still has to work but misses out on matchday. But like I say we have no idea what his decision was based on.

I wonder what he does actually do thou in all seriousness, does he have to report for training like the rest of the players? if he is late does he get fined for being late?

There is doing nowt like a squad player who dosent get a game, then there is doing nowt as in absolutely nothing at all.

I wonder if by not getting a squad number does it mean we dont have to pay him as much, I dunno, but the problem is ours with this guy, not his if he is still getting money from the club.

From what I know his woman is from around Manchester and it seems on the surface it is not the happiest of relationships.

So I imagine he doesn't want to leave the north west at the moment.

Given the fact he decided not to go, IMO Koeman should have at least given him a squad number and tried to integrate him into the first team squad.

I have said before that we have not seen enough of him in his few appearances, all of which were during last season's meltdown, to completely write him off and with it £13 million.

As others have said, it is hard to imagine a fully fit Omar bring any worse than Valencia.

And even if he doesn't want to use him, Koeman decreases the chance of getting rid every time he talks about him in the disparaging terms he uses.

yeah I get that but we still don't know what was said behind closed doors. We don't the reason Koeman refuses to give him a chance or why Niasse didn't go on loan if offers were available.

I am a firm believer you have to give a player 10 games to form a real opinion
In Niasse I thought after the first couple of times I seen him I thought he looked awful, and did write him off.
The comes Valencia who if anything looks worse and as clueless
I go back to Straq who was useless but worked his socks off and wion the backing of the crowd

I sit on the fence on him being given a chance in actually starting a game, but I think he should of been given a squad number and given his chance to prove himself in training with the first team squad..

Let's be fair we only have Kone &Valencia ahead of him, and they don't I still confidence

I think Niasse does have a squad number. Because we didn't receive a firm loan offer for him, and we were also desperately in need of making sure he would be eligible (that's a scary thought) should he ever be needed, he received one by deadline day. I could be wrong though.
But the biggest scary thing of all is the fact a club the size of Everton have three players who are the natural successors to Rom should he get injured. Kone (£6 mill), Niasse ( £13 mill) and Valencia ( loan). Total value is, er, significantly less than that. The sum of the parts, in this instance, is so much unbelievably less than that of the total outlay.
This trio of pretenders scare the bejebus out of me, and this whole situation is a TOTAL disgrace for a club of our stature to find itself in.
I would trust that Koeman and Walsh are in the ear of Moshiri, and also that we can keep Rom fit until the January window.
We can't afford another transfer mishap, just as we can't afford to be too far off the table leaders come the next window.

You are totally correct about the Straq though, for despite his limitations, he played to his strengths and worked like a Trojan for the shirt.
