Oumar Niasse

This thread seems to have gone off track.

Can we all concentrate, very hard now, on the fact that Oumar Niasse is possibly the worst player we have ever seen.

I still laugh my head off when I see that chance at Leicester when Schmeichel was stranded outside his box and Niasse just hand to slide it/chip it/knock it round him and it was a goal, but instead just toey'd it at his face.

I'm surprised anyone can remember anything about him playing. I genuinely can't.

Yes just like when he missed an open goal at Anfield from about 3 yards out!

So missing one chance makes you a bad player?

Actually the way some of our fans are these days that wouldnt shock me...

He almost scored from the corner flag in the very same game which on your scale would make him as good as Pele.

Players do miss chances, even the best do.

Wouldn't have said 'boss' , like. Good enough, perhaps. Certainly he'd be the 2nd choice to lukaku but that's more down to the rest of them.

I dunno, I think he was a bit too talented for us back then if that makes any sense? I could see him getting frustrated when playing when a one-two didnt come back to him etc.

I reckon he would have done well in the modern era of football as opposed to back then.

Grrrr.... Madar was a good player! Go and watch him!

(You cant there aint much on him on Youtube...)

Madar would have been boss in this current side.

Very rarely agree with you but i tend to agree, we have had far worse strikers with far worse scoring records than madar did with us

On one of the rare occasions he didn't topple over his own feet.

I wonder if Koeman's ire comes from the fact that he needed to shift Niasse's wages or part there of to bring someone else in? Say he went to palace and they paid 50% so we have 25k add 15k to it and he can pay someone else 40k a week but we couldn't come up with the whole 40k, so he holds Niasse responsible for not being able to bring in who he wanted.

Indeed.

Our back up striker Valencia was extremely unlucky on Saturday when, presented with an open goal, the ball hit his shin and went wide.

I would have backed Omar to score there

It would be very childish if he did.

It ain't Omar's fault he was given a contract on silly money and he is not going to move just to suit Koeman's wage structure.

And one assumes Koeman's would have known about the Niasse conundrum before signing for us.

its his fault if he doesn't have a future here and would rather collect his wages than be in a matchday squad for someone really dire like West Ham. He would still get paid his salary if he was on loan elsewhere. He cant stay and fight for his place so he should have gone if offers were made. Though I accept he may have his own reasons.
