Oumar Niasse

I think this is a bit OTT and unfair. It has taken better players than Niasse time to adapt to the Premier League, for the press to be calling him useless already is poor form.

Oh and Yarmalenko is from Ukraine, just saying.

Interestingly that artical originally had the headline something like "Arrived with expectation... greeted with laughter". It's clearly been re-written, because for some reason they really went for him and I was wondering if I had been watching the wrong player and the wrong game.

I saw him do nothing wrong yesterday, in fact it was quite refreshing to see a striker drop deep and win back possesion.

Edit: Ah I understand the author is a kopite, so by default has been written by someone who knows chuff all about football.

As you say, he's on a hiding to nothing at the moment. Give the lad a chance to show what he has before we light the torches and get the pitchforks out........Oh, and the Mail can do one.........

I don't understand how people think he'll be fit after a pre season which is about 6 weeks max this summer yet he's been here for more than double that and is still blatantly not even close to being fully fit.

Exactly. We know that Lukaku's top notch. However he's looked absolutely awful the last few games. Which proves that we shouldn't be writing Niasse off after playing about 80 minutes of football in a team devoid of confidence and ideas.
Not writing him off. But just saying he will go nowhere to lukakus goal scoring record for us. Nowhere near.

I wasn't referring to you directly mate. Just that your post was ideal to point out how hard it is to judge a player on a few games, or in Niasse's case, not even that.

Now imagine McGeady was bought with £15m or so.

Are ya fewmin' more?

To be honest, I never fumed over McGeady.

He was a bargain basement player who performed accordingly.

There were, however, a bunch of people on here who acted like we had mortgaged the main stand to buy him any time he failed to play like he did in fact command such a fee.

No easy ride for the million and a bit pound man.

Massively on topic tweet, now deleted, from Prentice here.

Think he needs to up his game in the summer and we need lukuku if he's still here next season or so, someone else up front with niasse, think he can be the next best thing!! I'm a positive person though!!
