Just watched a couple of replays of Niasse's first goal.

His first touch from Davies' pass was even better than I thought, considering the power on the pass, and Niasse needing to take the ball away slightly from the covering defenders. Absolute quality.

Can you imagine what Lukaku's first touch might have been like on a pass like that?

People on about his supposed poor touch. Who was the last Everton striker with a decent first touch? Yakubu? Young Rooney? Saha used to play his first touch back into our own half. Lukaku's was awful, Jelavic ok I suppose. If Niasse keeps scoring I don't care what his link up play is like.

Gives us something that no one else has this season, movement up front. sitting there watching him today, he never stands still, always looking to make a run into space, running across the line, boss he is.

Great game for him which he throughly deserved but we have enjoy the moment and needed points. Understanding that one game doesn't a season make. We have troubling lineups that just don't function together. At home two strikers always should be needed.

Niasse was damaged goods before Koeman arrived. His approach to that was perfect because there was no downside and it sent a message about the required quality to play for him.

Stick him upfront with DCL and build our team around them, it's the only option and way forward we have to get the best out of this squad, atleast we will carry a threat if those two are up top, something we have been lacking bigtime so far.
