That would presumably mean playing either DCL or Niasse out wide, which is totally out of the question for me

I assume he means more like Barca for example set up, yeah Messi is the focal point, but you can hardly say they played Neymar and Suarez on the wing

3 of them swapping positions regularly confusing defenders pulling them apart etc

and have solid behind them,

you could even have niasse to the left of them like the position he took up for his first goal against B'mouth where he and too an extent where he was against sunderland
