I've watched it a few times and it looks like a dive, not any worse than others you see, but he does simulate being tripped. Now like Andy Johnson he'll never win another penalty in his career...even if he's physically attacked by several players.

Two game ban !!
Have to appeal this even if it means losing it and an extra game adding to the ban, disgusting decision, ive said on here for years we are too soft, we're nowhere near as "savvy" as other teams,we over the period have probably been on of the most honest sides in the league, always accepting our lot in adversity from these clowns of officials, absolutely fuming over this myself:rant:

Mate that was the appeal

No. That's not simulation. FIFA defines simulation as "feigning injury" or "pretending to have been fouled". FA language is almost exactly the same.

So again, he didn't feign injury, he didn't pretend to be fouled. He fell to ground. Even under the FIFA rules it clearly states the proper response for a ref if the player falls is "NO ACTION". So even the FIFA rules say it's FINE to fall.

Contact doesn’t constitute a foul. He without doubt tried to make out that the contact constituted a foul.

See once you agree he went down easily that is simulation
If going down too easily is classed simulation so be it. Simulation is a bookable offence yes?. Wherever on the pitch?.

Going down too easily probably occurs half a dozen times or more in almost every game. If we are going to have consistency, which this has now become about to most fair minded Everton fans, then I expect to see yellow cards issued every time it happens. But you just know it won't happen. In fact I'd put money on nobody getting booked the rest of this season for what Niasse has just been pulled up for.

Taking away our only source of points in such unusual circumstances. Horrible fixture start.

I was thinking we were getting two many penos of late for our own good. Things have been un-evened back out. Imbalance is restored

They've set a dangerous precedent now. Anyone who is even slightly suspected of having faked a foul has to be banned now. They won't be of course. Aguero or the likes will do full on Swan Dives still and be let off cos, y'know, "Big Club". Scummy decision this.

Everton that. Looking forward to far worse dives this weekend from the big six going completely unpunished. Should have known that Everton having the temerity to get a pen away from home would come back to bite us. The media have called that one in. The amount of attention on a dubious pen in a nothing game was ridiculous. The media hungry FA couldn’t help themselves.

So this is really annoying obviously, they have brought this rule in to deter and punish divers (there was contact, but whatever) but my main gripe with this is that it literally helps no one, this isn’t going to give Palace an extra 2 points, we are now without a player for 2 games, and the really annoying thing is the number of other players who have escaped the same punishment so far this season. Also, a player gets a yellow card on the pitch but a 2 game ban retrospectively. Yeah because that’s fair. I expect the flood gates to open now and there being weekly bans for players.
