Absolute disgrace he has been banned for this. Can think of numerous players in the league at the top clubs who have been diving constantly and nothing has happened. Also if he had been booked for it then nothing would have happened after it I am gathering? So how is that the same a 2 match ban. Joke!

To be fair it ain’t just the “top clubs”.

That Richardiadon or whatever the heck he is called at Watford got away with it and all.

This is going to set a dangerous precedent.

Dele Alli had better watch out.

I’M SO ANGRY RIGHT NOW

The thing I sill can't get my head around about this is the 2 different punishments for the same offence, a player dives to con the ref into awarding a penalty, the ref see's the dive and gives a yellow card to that player, no more action taken.

A player dives to con the ref to win a pen, ref doesn't see the dive, gives the pen, FA then charges that player for diving, 2 match ban.

Surely the player who receives the yellow card is still cheating, and trying to con the ref, so why can't retrospective action be taken, even though that player received a yellow card. At the end of the day, cheating is cheating, and for one player the punishment is more severe than the other player gets for the same offence.

If the standard of proof is beyond reasonable doubt, not guilty for me. I’d be surprised if that was the case however; most sport disciplinary tribunals adhere to the civil, ‘on balance’ standard of proof.
...on which basis - when there is obvious contact - the balance tips in Niasse's favour.

But it didnt.

He did dive though lads.
I mean, it wasn't the most blatant dive I've ever seen, but a dive is what it was.

Yeah im not sure most people understand what the word simulation means.

simulation
sɪmjuːˈleɪʃ(ə)n/
noun
  1. imitation of a situation or process.
"simulation of blood flowing through arteries and veins"
    • the action of pretending; deception.
"clever simulation that's good enough to trick you"
    • the production of a computer model of something, especially for the purpose of study.
"the method was tested by computer simulation"

"the action of pretending; deception."

He dived, cos his arm got touched, its a dive, we got the pen, we scored the pen, we won this fight, sniff it you FA farts.

Yep, it then comes down to the competency of the officials. But they wont see any action taken against them.

Arm, chest and leg were in contact with Dann the grass.

I look forward to them maintaining this very same standard for the top 6.

Dont be silly, my memory is quite bad, but I recall going to a "League Cup" match many years ago versus Forest, the day stands out a lot cos it was simply the coldest I had ever been at a football match in my life, after the game we poured hot soup on our feet just so we could feel them, any I digress, Southall was punished for taking to many steps or holding on to the ball for to long, due to some new FA rules, Forest scored the winning goal from the freekick, as I say my memory is quite bad, but I dont recall anybody else getting done in such a way.

Exactly. It’s like the player is punished for the ref’s incompetence. 2 match ban as opposed to a yellow card if the ref spots it.

It’s just the latest example of badly thought through nonsense, by the buffoons who run the game.

Joke ain't it! Alli and Young just of the top of my head are constantly diving yet nothing. There is be many others as well but they play for the so called top clubs.
I don't typically buy into conspiracies, but it does seem odd. Especially as in this case there was contact. Wonder what would have happened had we missed the pen as well.

As I say, I disagree, and there will always be arguments on both sides with this kind of decision. For me a grown, professional athlete is not irresistibly forced to the ground because an arm grazes his chest. For me, on balance, a dive.

Because the penalty was given - and scored. Palace seriously disadvantaged. I guess they think that has to be seriously punished. The irony is that Palace will not benefit from the suspension, other teams will. It could be worse I suppose - what if the punishment was that any goals from an incorrectly awarded pen (from diving) was disallowed retrospectively, and any change to the result determining points from the match. If you think about it, that would be the fair outcome!
