Our Board v Brightons Board. Shows where the issues lay

He was reported as being the man charged with overseeing the owners interest with an office at Finch farm.
But he left a while ago with little explanation and no replacement.
I find that curious .
The cynic in me suggests he was manoeuvred out by the Kenwright clique.
He was Usmanov's nephew.

It’s been said a thousand times but, what Moshiri should have done is come in here and cleaned everyone out and started again with fresh experienced people. I firmly believe we wouldn’t be in this mess now if he did.

Brighton will be selling Mitoma McAllister Caicedo within the next few windows and the first big club to bat their eyelashes at de Zerbi will see him go just like Potter did. They’ll miss top 4 this season and end up trophy less.

You’re then asking them to perform the same recruitment miracles again to go out and find players better than the ones they’ve just sold and an even better manager. They won’t.
In fairness they sold Bissouma, Cucurella, Trossard (and who can forget the great Neal Maupay?) and they've somehow got better.

Whether it's sustainable over an even longer period, who knows? But they'll at least have money in the bank to go again and again.

This thread has been poisoned with foerverblet and his dad (who he always tags when he needs help) basically blaming the boards failings on the ffp/the scab six.

I've said this numerous times now. He was a true professional walking away from a circus.

The games done, unless you're state owned you won't win anything in the next ten years.

Look at Newcastle, they've been the worst fans for a decade but now think they're the best thing ever.

You can be state owned like PSG and still not really win anything though, they want the CL and no matter what they do they can't win it. Whatever any clubs goals are, you have to some sort of plan and you have to try and follow it through and let people do their jobs. The clubs where it works are the ones that football people are allowed to get on and do football stuff. The clubs where it fails (us for eg) are where you get meddling from individuals above the first team.

Sorry I stopped reading before your first sentence.

But if he was a true professional and was the man with the ear of the owner then there's no way he should have been outmanoeuvred by people like Kenwright and DBB. It comes back to the same issue we often have when discussing the board - people wanting to simultaneously claim that they're incompetent amateurs who are just winging it and also evil masterminds capable of bending every situation to their own advantage even when dealing with people more powerful and skilled they are.

If it's not obvious by now it's very clear Kenwright only sold to Moshiri if he got total control.

I'm not sure if that's meant to counter what I said? It doesn't if so. I'm not defending them here, far from it. I believe they are one of the things I mentioned, i'm just saying they aren't (and can't be) both.

It can be very difficult to put new systems in place when faced by embedded board members even when they are failing.
You not only have to battle with the board members but also the support staff, who owe their loyalties to the existing board.
It can be exhausting and an ultimately fruitless task.

We have had poor decision makers for decades, even when moyes ran the club on a shoe string we still had clueless people making decisions, elstone once sent back 2 thousand tickets for a European away when we could of sold out twice over, having clueless know nothing's on the board is what everton does i have certainly become accustomed to this, man city did the same until they decided they were going to be the best, that thought never entered moshiri head once.
