Oh dear Chicoazul.

Where the **** do you get your sterotypes from? Those middle class wools from When Skies are Grey? I would have expected that you know better than that.

Another thing, you and LTBlue, trying wind younger fans up for wanting to support Everton in the manner they choose, what's that all about, you're coming across like a bully there, why are doing that? No doubt the owners of this site will have to look at this thread and probably delete it as it would compromise their integrity.

Listen mate I'm an ultra now. I don't think the mods on here would want to upset me as Ill give them mad stares and stuff.

WHO PUT THE BALL IN THE RED****E NET? SUPER DAN GOSLING.

Now the fact that it doesnt isnt really because of the fans, its because of the football, we have nothing to cheer really...so whats the point in cheering? Also when it comes to controversy on the pitch i think Everton fans are easily the best at voicing their opinion!

But thats when the players need our support most isn't it? when there playing badly!!

I live in Berlin and went to see the Berlin derby earlier this year. FC Union, the perennial underdogs, were away at Hertha Berlin in the 80,000 capacity stadium. I was with me mates who were Union fans and their vocal support was incredible: singing all the way through thick and thin, always cheering, always offering encouragement. No negative shouting after their team made mistakes.

Such amazing positive joyful atmosphere at simply being there to support their team, almost as if the result was secondary to the occasion.

Union actually won that day...there is a very interesting history of the club available online for those who like a good football read (in short, their fans saved the club from going bust by volunteering to help out building their stadium...literally they're on the building site getting their hands dirty, becoming great friends amongst themselves in the process...pretty amazing).

Point is that we Evertonians are seduced by a rich history and a Premiership culture which demands results. We easily get negative when things don't go our way. FC Union showed me that the unconditional love we feel for our club need not manifest itself in angst and worry, it is in fact a very joyful and communal experience. The palaver over money, tactics, personalities and results is secondary to the simple joy of supporting our team play football.

Here is one study finding us the 4th loudest in the Prem;

THEY’RE by far the loudest teams, the country’s ever seen . . . and it’s Liverpool and Everton!

The Mersey giants have figured prominently in a website poll to find the nation’s noisiest fans last season.

According to fanschants.com Anfield was responsible for producing the greatest noise volume in the Premier League during 2010/11, while the Grand Old Lady across the park at Goodison was rated fourth.

Fanchants set up decibel meters at every Premier League club on three separate occasions throughout 2010/11 – and took an average measurement.

Liverpool averaged 97 decibels – louder than a lawnmower (90 decibels), but not quite at chain saw decibel levels (110 decibels) – while second in the list were Manchester United fans.

Described by Alex Ferguson as “quiet and sunbathing” after a victory over Fulham in April, the 75,000 capacity Old Trafford crowd actually hit a decibel level of 94, while Everton came in fourth – behind Aston Villa but ahead of Blackpool.

And here is another;

Who has the loudest fans in the Premier League?

Decibel meter readings taken across home matches for all Premier League teams during August and September, showed that the loudest home crowd was Sunderland.

Average peak volume of the Sunderland crowd at home reaching 129.2 decibels & 150; louder than a rock concert (115 decibels) and almost as loud as an air raid siren/military jet (130 decibels).

As a volume of 110-115 decibels can cause hearing damage after just 15 minutes, football fans are being advised to wear ear protection if they want to hear the referees whistle clearly across their supporting career.

The findings are especially embarrassing for Arsenal and Manchester United, whose grounds dwarf the 49,000-seater Sunderland home ground by 11,000 and 21,000 seats respectively.

Quietest home fans were Fulham who could only muster an average maximum volume of 115.4 decibels at home.

And although not the loudest, Everton fans proved that they have the stamina to keep it up all match. Their chants were the most frequent (one every three minutes on average) and longest (52 seconds each on average) of all teams studied.

The ear-bending research was commissioned by 118118 who are searching for the best and loudest football chants in the country.

Well i believe thats a lie. All other football fans must be terrible if our home support is good enough and loud enough to be that high?

One study had us 4th, another 5th in loudest - one reported us to the most consistent.

Not sure why the likes of 188-188 would want to lie mate.

Well last season we sang against Man U, L'pool and Man City other than that we hardly sang so unless they are just going off them 3 games, the atmosphere at football must be shocking to have us that high. How good do you think are fans are?

The first study was all season, the second was "Decibel meter readings taken across home matches for all Premier League teams during August and September,"
