Our Remaining Six Games Of 2021

Anyone who’s played any competitive sport knows that a good run breeds more good performances and a bad one can be very tough to shake.
We will be going into Palace away completely fired up now with Richarlison and Gray after more goals and having the belief they can do it whereas if we’d had another battering we’d be going into the game a bag of nerves, desperate for a result.
Your main point that a win can come any time is correct but you’ve gotta see it’s more likely to come when you’re feeling good and confident.
If the first line is true why do teams playing badly stop playing badly and teams playing well stop playing well?

Didn't know this thread existed. Those who predicted 0-2 points..... are happy to be wrong right?

We have six games left to play in 2021. Who do you feel we can and will take points from? Also, If these six games were our last of the season and we needed just three points to guarantee our Premier League survival, with the same squad we have now, would you be confident we could do it?

Monday 6th Dec - Arsenal (H)

Sunday 12th Dec - Crystal Palace (A)

Thursday 16th Dec - Chelsea (A)

Sunday 19th Dec - Leicester City (H)

Sunday 26th Dec - Burnley (A)

Thursday 30th Dec - Newcastle United (H)

I think a lot of us probably expected (at best) three points from the first three games, with a win against Crystal Palace and defeats against Arsenal and Chelsea, so to take four points from the Arsenal/Chelsea games was a decent showing. We're on our way to Premier League survival :D

6 points from the last 2 games (Burnley + Newc) is the absolute max for me. 0 points from Arsenal, Palace, Chelsea or Leics methinks. We're 100% at the point where it's every bit as important how the teams around us are fairing, let alone just our results.
6 points in from Burnley and Newcastle now would make it a decient return from the games. Hopefully the bit of extra recovery time with the postponed Leicester game will see some of our injured players back for the next game.

Looking at all the fixtures through January we need to be winning every single one to get back on track, I still think we are below where we should be....

Not sure Europe is still on, we will need a good run including beating some big teams which I cant see.

Top 7 in the last 10 years have been as follows :-

20/21 - 62 Points (Everton 10th 59 points) 3 points short
19/20 - 59 (Everton 12th 49 points) 10 points short
18/19 - 57 (Everton 8th 54 points) 3 points short
17/18 - 54 (Everton 8th 49 points) 5 points short
16/17 - 61 (Everton 7th 61 points)
15/16 - 63 (Everton 11th 47 points) 16 points short
14/15 - 60 (Everton 11th 47 points) 13 points short

At present we are 6 points of 7th but we have a terrible GS of -8 which might hinder us

Although you never know what to expect with Everton, of the seven Premier League fixtures from the start of January to the end of February you'd expect us to win them all apart from Manchester City (last game of Feb). That said, this is Everton, so we'll probably stuff City and lose the rest. Obviously, Aston Villa will be a very tough game also.

A lot will depend on the attitudes of the current players and who (if anyone) we bring in during the Transfer Window.
