Panorama to question ownership of Everton

Moshiri handled panorama very well, gave nothing away that they could hang anything on. All centred around the transfer of shares years back which Moshiri ultimately sold back to Usmanov to finance the purchase of Everton shares. Panorama maintained that this represented Usmanov putting money into Everton - load of tosh. Then harped on about Bridgewaters in IOM owned by Usmanov and that firm were advisors to true Blue Holdings and there fore Usmanov had a connection to EFC. Rubbish imo. So as stated before by me much ado about nothing. Panorama did not prove at all that Usmanov had any control, influence or put money into Everton.

It would actually be weirder if one billionaire sold his shares to his billionaire mate, and any connection wasnt kept.

Mate still does not show anything to support the allegations of Panorama. Heavens they pointed the finger at the Queen as a tax avoider should she step down?

Nonsense Dave, Bridgwater advised true Blue Holdings years before Moshiri came on the scene and before anyone had heard of Usmanov.

There was still nothing to show Usmanov had any control, influence or put money into EFC. Typical Dave, you are lifting stones and hoping to find snakes.

Come on mate, dont act daft. If you dont see any smoking gun there you must be Stevie Wonder.

Whether it's punishable or not I dont know. But let's not two blues kid each other up. We all *know* Usmanov owns this club.

...sometimes these cases pick up steam.

Hold on to your hat would be my advice.

The links between us and Usmanov look obvious to anyone with a couple of brain cells to rub together. It WILL be scrutinised further.

Mate, it (the link) would have been scrutinised, in detail, way before the FA/PL had to. The end game for Usnamov aint EFC. Its Liverpool Waters. Using, legal, means to help his mate prepare the ground is standard business practice.

Has to be proven Mate. Have to ask why would he want to own Everton when he has so much in Arsenal. Or basically why would he want to own us full stop.

That's what I said above: there CAN be a difference between having an explanation for being seen as a discrete separation and something being so obviously connected.

I'd also say that if there's a political motive for going after someone then it'd make little difference. 'Reasonable' explanation would be trumped by the court of public opinion.

We'll see how this one goes. But I dont agree with the Pollyanna conclusion that it's all hot air and nothing to see here. There is if the will is there to make more of the (clear) links.

Not sure I follow your logic there. When Moshiri got control of Everton there was never any mention of a stadium in the docks, that only came about this year. So if Usmanov was helping his friend did he have foresight back last year to see a link to Liverpool Waters. Next you will be saying it is actually Usmanov that owns the Liver Building.

I tend to agree mate, always have thought they are acting like a partnership and increasing exposure to the PL. I also think that exposure is secondary to the Liverpool water ways project which I bet they both will be heavily involved in the development of.

I don’t think he will ever “come” to Everton. It’s better financially to have 33% exposure in Arsenal and a majority stake in Everton then it is just to own Everton.

As for Panorama it’s a damp squib really, no smoking gun and while they suggest an awful lot, they have no proof and I can’t see any rule that has been broken.

It’s suggestive without being objective and their use of language indicates that.

Can’t see any bad coming our way from this.

Not sure public opinion is remotely arsed mate.

Any transaction involving Moshiri, EFC, USM, Usnamov would have been cleared via their lawyers miles before anything actually happened. There would have been informal talks with the FA/PL prior to anything as well. (My opinion). The end game for Usnamov is way too big to be knackered by footie regulations.

Exactly, my conclusion as well.

Not sure if you are being ironic if I am honest.
