Panorama to question ownership of Everton

But it is about who turned up on those stolen papers. Nothing on Abramovich, Glazers, Fenway Group, Kroenker, Etihad. It just so happens we copped it. The programme was purportedly about people putting their vast fortunes abroad to avoid tax but this angle was never raised in the Moshiri/Usmanov portion of the programme.
It was about finance vehicles offshore. Bridgehouse is in the IoM.

Looking for credibility from who? Wealthy investors? dont worry, those types are far too busy working on there own dodgy deals to waste time watching the BBC. We dont need credibility, none of the top clubs right now are even slighty credible, if you want to stay credible welcome to mediocrity

...cautious enough not to want to hitch their wagon to a Putin ally, presumably.

Omg the bbc said somthing we have all known for ages and this place goes into meltdown

give ur heads a wobble

its a well known fact Usmanov gave mosh the shares as he has done with giving him shares in some of the other companies he owns, how the hell did you think mosh got his money, u dont get to be worth 2.4B by just doing accounts

I just thought he was a good accountant

The BBC have raised an issue about whether or not an Arsenal shareholder owns Everton. Legally, Moshiri owns the club, well a large part of it, and legally, unless some other piece of paper exists that says otherwise, Usmanov has no legal claim upon our club. It is possible that Moshiri may owe Usmanov money, but that still would give Usmanov no direct claim over Everton. If any money was a ‘gift’ or a ‘performance payment’ in the past then providing appropriate taxation has taken place, there is no issue. This is gutter level journalism aimed at teenagers.

Rather than being ‘wounded’ by any association with Moshiri, I would suggest the exact opposite and suggest that any association, unless illegal, strengthens our perceived financial clout.

I hope Moshiri and Usmanov sue the crap out of the BBC........

I think far too many are missing the point this has nothing to do with companylaw as to how or why Moshiri purchased shares in Everton the issue is about the relationship between Usmanov and Moshiri.
The PL rules forbid any direct link between a major shareholder at one club and a major shareholder at another.
Direct links as listed include associations through business or as an employee / employer and when it comes to financial then that’s a total no no.

So Usmanov should sell up at Arsenal and come to Everton, I like your thinking.......

Well the FA/PL signed the deal off, so they must have been Ok with it.

I was reminded yesterday about a chap called Eddie Mitchell. He owned a non league club , Dorchester 100% he then purchased shares in AFC Bournemouth so gifted the shares in Dorchester to his son. The FA quickly came down on that because they believed Mitchell would still have influence at DTFC so Mitchell then tried to appoint a business associate and ex employee of Mitchell’s as chairman but FA rules on Cup competitions ruled this out.
I don’t think Usmanov will walk from Arsenal his investment there is appreciating at pace but who knows this is a mess and the implications should be a concern
