Panorama to question ownership of Everton

Haven't read the full article because I don't subscribe to The Times (or any other bit of the Murdoch empire), but I understand the programme is more about off-shoring than EFC.

Football is rotten to the core, but it's hardly news is it?

I don’t think that it’s quite as straight as that.

We know that Usmanov has passed the 30.00 % point in shares Arsenal. What that means in accordance with primarily with the FA rules but clarified in the PL rules is that he can’t have any influence either directly or indeed indirectly at any other club .

If as you suggest it’s Usmanovs money then there would be an issue

Legally speaking, nobody can do anything, Moshiri owned shares at Arsenal and sold his shares before buying us (which he had to do before buying us), if today someone gifted me shares in a company, that person no longer owns the shares, i own them, that's the way with Moshiri, Usmanov gifted him the shares in the first place is meaningless legally, many people who buy shares in companies, register part of those shares in the name of their children.

All in all, even if FA or anyone else decided there is a foul play, we are 100% safe, it's not our fault, we as Everton didn't do anything wrong, Moshiri, Usmanov and even Arsenal might be in trouble, but not Everton.

As a long suffering Everton supporter you should know better.
This is Everton we could fall into a bed of Roses and still end up smelling of the brown stuff.

Agreed. Worst case: Mosh & Usmanov get bans from involvement with English clubs, Mosh's 49.9% would have to go somewhere but we as a club won't be directly punished, so no points deductions or the like.

And that's worst case scenario (in my opinion).

This may be true...however, as Moshiri is the major shareholder at Everton...we certainly will be in trouble

Everyone knows that Usmanov is behind Moshiri's move to us. They must be confident as otherwise they would not have made it so obvious when USM sponsored the training ground.

Just like the lucrative sponsorship that PSG and MC receive.

I am sure the paperwork will be fine and above board. Panorama will suggest that the situation is suspicious. Doesn't take a great deal of investigative journalism to reach that conclusion - doesn't mean it is dodgy.

I think the red flag has gone up on Moshiri/Usmanov because of the FF naming rights deal. Which underlines just how pitiful the club have been in reality under Moshiri...that Everton under his ownership and control could only attract more commercial cash from the source that in all probability bought 49% of the club stock.

It's just laughable. What a house of cards we have in front of us now.

All those who think: "nothing to see here, move on" are kidding themselves. This issue will dog Moshiri and therefore Everton and the attraction of capital for that stadium will be a hundred fold more difficult to achieve.

All bets are off on us now. I honestly have no idea what's to become of this club.
