Rubbish ...... that is a standard Lunging Whip used to flick at horses and make them trot or go faster when under training.
Exactly what is going on here:



I also note that it was the Dutch who brought it to the attention of the FEI ...... and the Dutch are very much favourites to win medals now the world No1 has been binned

Unreal.

She's lost her CBE and lottery funding and she should be banned from having anything to do with horses ever again.

Couldn't disagree more. Whipping a horse to make it do ballet. Tell you what why don't we have dancing bears as an Olympic sport . Let's not stop there bullfighting would suit the Spanish in their surge up the medal table , in fact Jon Rahm could probably represent them in that and golf.

You're right on the one place piece. Absolutely should just have a permanent host venue. Ideally a place where a lot of the venues would be used regularly anyway. In some ways LA makes a lot of sense in that regard. I'm not sure what the right answer is necessarily, but building venues for two weeks just to tear them down or never really use them again definitely isn't it.
