It was all they could get as Warner Bros bought the rights a while back for a load of money. Did a deal with the BBC so at least some coverage would be available on a free to air channel. BBC will still have all the major events. You can subscribe to Discovery+ for £3.99 and you'll be able to watch everything and then just cancel after the Olympics.
